Top Gaming Mice for Quake Champions

To play Quake 3 most players use a mouse for the PC version of the game. There are a wide range of great gaming mice to choose from when it comes to find the best mouse for playing Quake Champtions. Players will have differing opinions as to their favorite mouse for playing this particular game. Chances are that several different players would give you several different answers, while new mice are getting released every year so your favorite one could change at least once every 12 months.

Anyhow here some of the best contenders for being the better mouse to play Quake Champions with:

The Logitech Wireless Pro

Now this is a great mouse to play any game with. The good news for left handers is that this mouse is ambidextrous so you will not have any problems using it. The Logitech Pro is super fast and excellent for playing first person shooter games such as Quake 3. It will not take long to get used to either. If you are a little more competitive you may wish to play Quake in single player while you get used to how this mouse feels and works when you are using it. Then revert back to multiplayer once you have got the hang of it.

This mouse is ergonomically designed and comfortable to use even after several hours of gaming. Priced at around $138 it is worth every cent of that. It has a really long battery life too, and you can play with it wired while it is charging.

Logitech G903

The G903 is not quite as good as the Pro. However it is also wireless and ambidextrous. It is the step up mouse from the previous G900 with the main improvement that it is compatible with G power plus. A high level performing mouse that is still superb for playing games on.

Perhaps the only downside with the 903 is that it has not got any lower in price since the Wireless Pro has gone on sale.

The Roccat Kone Aimo

This wired mouse is a really good one for gaming if your budget is around the $80 mark. The Kone Aimo is a well built, slightly chunky mouse that is highly responsive. The lighting you get with this mouse is awesome and almost entertainment in it’s own right. Using this you will have no problems with playing Quake champions.

It is not ambidextrous and some left handers may find it harder to use.

The Corsair M65 RGB Elite

This Corsair M65 RGB Elite is a good mouse for $60, and it performs well during gameplay. Some players may prefer lighter mice than this one yet it is a reliable mouse. For it’s cost it performs well and you can make it lighter by removing it’s weights.

We hope this guide helped you decide on the best mouse for playing Quake champions.

Good, luck and remember you’ll still need to practice to improve your aim!

Best Quake 2 Cutscenes

There are some memorable cutscenes in the game Quake 2. Quake was so popular that Quake 2 had to work hard to have players like it as much. Yet the settings and the story were changed so that it was not simply a remake of the original game. Here is a list of the better cutscenes you can watch in Quake 2. A common theme from players comments about Quake 2 concerns the final cutscene is discussed below.

Quake II caused more discussions around it’s cutscenes than Quake itself had done. Generally the cinematics in Quake 2 in terms of graphics are better than in the first game. The developers, id Software were intent on using the cutscenes to highlight the differences between Quake 2 and it’s predecessor.

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fhpd80wNij4

What an introduction

The opening cutscene to get the game started is just so good, and well thought out by id Software. It worked well as an introduction to the Stroggs, the alien race that you have to defeat to complete the game. This opening cutscene also shows you that this game is purposely different from the first one. It shows the science fiction back drop of this distant planet yet at the same time you as a marine are going to have a tough job of defending the new colony from alien threats.

As soon as you watch the introduction you know that you are going to playing in one hell of a game, especially in multiplayer mode. Granted you may not believe it is as good as the first, that introduction does a fine job of getting the ball rolling.

Space and more space

The good thing about the cutscenes in Quake II is that they all have the outer space setting and the action sequences still look cool over 20 years since the game was released. Marines shooting at aliens rarely looked so entertaining.

A brief ending

While the introductory cutscene earned plaudits the last cutscene was not so liked at the time. It is the brief length of the scene that largely makes players dislike it, or argue that it should have been longer in length. It only lasts 30 seconds and that leaves many thinking that there needs to be a longer ending in order to the game justice.

The last cutscene in terms of action was fine in terms of graphics it just lacks depth and even another 90 seconds or so would create a better end to Quake II.

MOD changes

This being a part of the Quake franchise there are MODS available with different cutscenes, or tips on how to reprogram the game so that the final cutscene is extended to allow for an improved understanding of how the game ended. So if you select any of the MODS you can provide the game with a more detailed ending.

Just remember that Quake II is a game that has always divided opinion among players and will continue to do so.

In Quake 2 Walkthrough the player is aiming to gain 9 achievements in order to complete the game. Depending on the skills or experience of gamers it can take 3 to 7 hours to successfully complete it.Check out also Quake 2 cutscenes.

Your mission in Quake II is to destroy the Stroggs as you are fighting as a member of the Earth’s forces. All 9 of the achievements are centered around defeating the Stroggs. The game seems easier to play on the Xbox 360 version compared to the original 1997 PC version. The new version comes as a bonus disc for the Quake 4 game.

Before you start on gaining the 9 achievements just remember that the obtaining of them does not increase your game score, you are simply demonstrating that you have the skill to grab all of the achievements. Some players have not bothered to play Quake 2 because of that.

Wherever you are in the game there are secret stashes of weapons and power ups so look out for these. The achievements are in the same places no matter what difficulty you pick, the only difference is that you will have to stop more enemies to reach them.

On the first level there is a shotgun and a silencer to be found, plus grenades and health boosts. As soon as you have killed all of the guards you go back up the stairs and by reaching the lift you have gained the first achievement.

For the level 2 achievement you have to fight your way out of a large room full of guards, remembering to grab the hidden machine gun on the way out. Take a left after picking the gun up, you will need to kill more guards, by going to where they came from you will pick up a quad 4 to give your guns 4 times the power. Carry on until you find the stairs to the sewers and the next level.

Once you have gone through the sewer you have reached the Communications center. Just head for the factory area and then the Computer Room killing anyone you meet. Once you have gone all the way round you go back through the door you came through to begin the level.

In between the last two levels is a secret level where you find a secret weapon, that will be really useful to complete the game. Then you are back to level 2 only this time you will find another shotgun.

You can explore on all the levels as well to make sure you uncover all of the secrets. Those secrets improve your chances of completing the game sooner. There is no hurry to finish the game so try different directions on every level.

You can achieve everything you have to by going around the various installations in the area killing all of the Stroggs, blowing up generators and taking out the Strogg leader. Destroying the generators and the Black Hole generator alongside the big gun means that the Stroggs are going to be defeated, and killing their leader makes it harder for them to defeat you.

Best Quake MODS of all time

Quake MODS are popular among gamers and some have have proved to be better than others. Here, which of the MODS is better than the rest is evaluated. A MOD is when gamers have decided to modify games themselves instead of waiting for the developers of the game to complete upgrades or improvements. Developers do not always get around to changing their games for a variety of reasons, and Quake was a game that had some glitches and players also took it upon themselves to make improvements.

Quake had it’s limits

The makers of Quest, id Software had made Quake an innovative and in some ways groundbreaking game. Yet that meant that there were glitches and parts where the graphics and gameplay were not as good as in the rest of the game.

Among the community of Quake fans there were people with enough knowledge and interest in video games to develop their own enhancements and fixes to the game. Some of these MODS were widely applied to Quake and made it better to play.

Team Fortress

This was the first significant attempt to alter the game beyond the original story. Players got to pick, which class that they played the game in. Each class had differing levels of speed, armor and weapons. Besides having a different range of weapons the impact of these weapons changed with class. Playing at different classes meant players had to have differing levels of skill.

The Threewave Capture The Flag

Threewave Capture The Flag is a MOD meant for multiplayer mode, and it was developed by Dave Kirsch. In this MOD two teams compete to capture their flag first. Having to cooperate and work as a team made this popular with players. This MOD pitted a Blue Team against the Red Team.

Rocket Arena

The Rocket Arena carried on where Threewave Capture The Flag had finished. Instead of two teams there are four teams involved in this MOD. These teams are Blue, Green, Red and Yellow teams. These versions relied on how good the multiplayer mode in Quake was, and indeed made it better.

All three of these MODS were influential on the development of other games and continued improvements in multiplayer modes and made Capture The Flag games more popular. Rocket Arena itself was further modified by Cian Arena, which introduced robots or bots into the gameplay. Not all the MODS were designed for multiplayer mode though.

Arcane Dimensions

Perhaps the best known of the single player MODS for Quake is Arcane Dimensions. This MOD made the game more complicated than the original release version. Players preferred this version as it gave them a more in depth story. Players also got to choose to play as different characters who had different weapons and armor. The new characters got to fight different enemies as well.

All of these MODS and many others showed how much Quake meant to the people who took the time and effort to design them. The MODS also added to the influence that Quake had on later games.

Just before the release of a variant of Quake 2 in 2008 id Software and Activision put out an advertisement about the virtues of Stroyant. Now no human being should consider that Stroyant has any virtues, and it is not a product that people should be endorsing in any way, shape or form. You should certainly not volunteer yourself to be turned into Stroyant, though it might not be optional if you run into some Stroggs on your next visit to the high street or your nearest shopping mall. Here are the
Funny Stroyant Advertisement.

Funny benefits for the Stroggs

According to this advertisement then there are definite benefits for Stroggs in increasing their daily intake of Stroyant. The Stroyant gives the Stroggs more energy and staying power so that they can spend more time doing their favorite thing, killing people. For the Stroggs it is funny that the more people they kill the more Stroyant they can have, and in turn they become even better at killing people.

In essence the consuming of Stroyant is a means of achieving a food cycle that can keep on running as long as there are still humans out there to be killed and then turned into the next batch of this virtually unlimited food supply.

It cures PD

Another specifically mentioned benefit of Stroyant is that it is the best cure for Projectile Dysfunction (PD). After all the inability to throw projectiles or kill humans in any other way would be enough to ruin any Strogg’s day. With Stroyant there is no disappointing dips in performance, all Stroggs can continue their existences as lean and really mean killing machines. Green Stroyant is the best that any Strogg can use and they can use it as often as they like.

Sometimes the fakes are better than the real thing

So this piece of fake advertising is better than most real advertising. In particular it is poking fun at the adverts for diet, health and vitamin supplements. Such adverts extol the virtues of these supplements with no proof that these work. Those adverts are most effective at making your wallet lighter if nothing else.

On the other hand each and every Strogg knows that the virtues of Stroyant are well known and true, it is a fake advert that reveals the truth they wished to hide from people. The truth that we are feeding our enemies every day.

Please feel free to volunteer for an early holiday season

The Stroggs are hoping that any humans who watch the fake advert believe it is true and are prepared to volunteer to be turned into Stroyant and make a modest contribution to the end of humanity. They have heard of an old Earth saying invented before political correctness, “like turkeys voting for an early Christmas.”

And to finish it off. . .

As every maker of real and fake adverts knows it is the jingle that makes things stick in your mind. The jingle makes it even funnier. Not sure if it is still available as a ring tone anymore.

Quake Champions Review

Quake Champions is the latest game in the Quake series, and it was released in 2017. It continued with some aspects of the series and also changed some parts of the game. These changes received a mixed reception with some Quake fans liking them and others not so much. Change often does receive a mixture of support and dislike, more details of the changes will follow.

It’s Quake but not as we know it

Quake Champions was the first official game in the series since Quake 4 way back in 2004. In the meantime there have been unofficial MODS and other games that are really similar. The developers id Software had

previously stated that Quake Champions would not be a MOBA game and this concerned some fans that the game would be won by the players with the biggest weapons and the thickest armor instead of the the ones with the most most skills.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall

Quake Champions does give players different weapons and amounts of armor. In theory the players that have the biggest weapons and the strongest armor have the best chance of winning. However the changes are not as one sided as you belief they are at first. For the players with the most armor and the most weapons also have the largest hit boxes. In other words a good player with an accurate aim can score more hits on a more powerful foe.

There are some surprises

The thing with Quake Champions is that some of the characters have new or secret weapons, which means that you can think that you are doing well against Sorlag when a surprise acid attack kills you. Once you have been killed by weapons or tactics you were not expecting the game becomes more of an even contest, as it is your skill and speed pitted against those of your opponent. The problem is that you may get killed several times in two or three hours while you get used to the game.

Take time to get used to the changes

Typically if you have been used to playing any of the earlier Quake games over a number of years you are less likely to like Quake Champions than if you never played any of the others. For old hands at Quake it was the purity of it’s MOBA that placed it among the best of the first person shooter games. Champions has changed the game yet it has not completely ruined it.

Old hands at this game should have patience with this game, and once they get used to it then they should be able to show how skilled they are. Just allow time to learn the new controls.

New players, especially those with experience of playing other games like Overwatch will probably like the game more from the first time that they play it.

The graphics, animation and gameplay are of the high standards you would expect from the Quake series as is the multiplayer mode.

Now Quake Champions is a fast paced multiplayer first person shooting game so the more accurate your shooting aim the better the chances of survival and in the end victory. So an improved aim will certainly help you to improve in this game. The problem with Quake Champions is that the fast pace means that you do not have as much time to get your aim perfect before you have to pull that trigger, you have to shoot immediately as quick reactions are needed.

Your aim cannot become perfect overnight

As much as you would like your aim to improve drastically within hours in most cases that simply will not happen at all. Providing that you have been gaming for a few years already your aim will probably be of a reasonable standard as it is. Therefore unless your aim was poor to begin with there is little chance of an overnight marked improvement. Such is the pace of Quake Champions in multiplayer mode that any player’s confidence in their present aiming skills will be dented. Just sit back and remember that some of your opponents have been playing the Quake series for longer than you have, and they have had more time to get their aim right first time more often.

Practice and more practice

In all cases practice and more practice is the key to improving your aim in Quake Champions. Even the best players have to practice to hone their skills and to be able to compete so well in games. So accept the fact you will have to practice and start doing so straightaway.

It is a good idea to practice your aim in the single player mode so that you can improve without worrying about other players out playing you. Single player mode is a means to practice your aim without the added pressure of having to fight opponents. If you are new to Quake Champions it also allows to get used to all of the controls so that your over all gameplay will get better.

Some people still play in multiplayer mode yet set up friendlies with other gamers so that they can all play and get better without taking too much of a beating. Doing it that way means that you are still improving her your confidence is not being harmed by losing badly every time that you play the game. It is a gentler learning curve than just going into multiplayer and getting soundly beaten all of the time.

Some people will try equipment adjustments or fixes in order to improve their aim. For instance they buy a new gaming mouse, or they increase the size of the mouse pad. Altering the zoom can also allow you to see better for taking aim.

Another way to see better when playing is to change the resolution on the screen so that your targets are clearer to target.

Yet playing is the only sure fire way of improving, even if that involves getting beaten frequently.

The History of Quake

Quake dates back to 1996, and it was developed by id Software. When it was originally released it was likened to the Doom franchise as it was developed by the same company. However anyone who has played both games would more than likely contend that there are more differences than there are similarities. For instance, Quake does not allow you to drive through a building in a tank. Yet it did allow you to work out how to get out of a maze.

Quake and the improvement of multiplayer playing modes

One area in, in which Quake did follow on from Doom was offering multiplayer modes for it’s players. Gamers that play present day multiplayer games have much to thank Quake for. Doom had shown that multiplayer playing was possible via the internet yet the connection had not always been reliable.

As the series went along id Software made further improvements to make multiplayer mode a better experience. It updated the software by introducing QuakeWorld and QuakeSpy that made multiplayer gaming work every time.

Quake and the improvement in graphics

Doom and the DoomEngine started the process of making game graphics more realistic. Quest continued the process and delivered the best 3D rendering of any video game up to that point. The development of 3D rendering delayed the release of the game by several months and meant that it was not as complex as originally intended.

Despite the delay Quake was well received as players enjoyed the action as well as having to work out how to exit the mazes. Like Doom the RPG was advanced for the time, though it was set in Medieval times instead of the near future. Players had to take on all kinds of creatures with an ax. To get players used to the changes that QuestEngine a simpler version known as the QTest. It also increased interest in the game.

Release dates and different versions

Quake was first released on the Sega Saturn system, on 2 December 1997. It was then decided to release the game for the Nintendo 64. The launch took place on 24 March 1998. To be ready for both systems the software had to be altered as there was not enough memory to cope with the improved graphics. The plan to launch Quake on PlayStation was abandoned due to technical issues and Sony not wanting to spend more time on it.

Quake was popular and gamers loved it’s combination of action and strategy., and the multiplayer mode was well received. In 2005 a version of Quake was released to be used on cell phones. This brought the game to younger players and also allowed it’s fans to enjoy playing it on the go.

Quake quickly established it’s own community of followers and they often changed the game themselves. They developed a series of modifications to improve the gameplay, increase the number of weapons that could be used and to correct glitches.
